What is Qi?
In traditional Chinese Culture and Daoism Qi is believed to be a vital force forming part of any living entity.
Qi is the most basic substance of which the world is comprised. Everything in the universe results from the movements and changes of Qi. It unites our body and mind. In our permanently changing reality Qi is the only steady constant.
The ancient knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine shows that Qi circulates within our body in defined channels and can be influenced. These channels, the Meridians, and their energy points (Tsubos) all over the body allow us to communicate with Qi, through touch or acupuncture.
Everything is interconnected and interdependent. If all parts of our system are in harmony with one another, then the whole system is in harmony. Disturb one thing and you create a disturbance that ripples through the whole system. If our Qi is able to flow freely in our body, we feel this harmony inside us. We feel connected with ourselves and everything or everybody.
